We’re excited to support events, venues and more getting back to business, and have developed a contact tracing add-on for our ticketing platform to help customers get back to running events sooner.
Social distancing and lockdown restrictions caused by the COVID19 virus have had a detrimental impact on the events industry, and this Contact Tracing ticketing add-on will allow event organisers to assist the Government with COVID-19 contact tracing by proving the details of attendees if required.
“We developed this add-on in the hopes that by assisting the Government with contact tracing we may be able to cautiously help our customers open their doors and get events and gigs back up and running,” said Alex Grant, CEO of INTIX.
INTIX has been following government protocols very closely on the return of events and the requirements that may be imposed on event organisers.
“It’s clear that mass gatherings will not go ahead without some way to track who’s turning up in case they are later diagnosed with COVID19,” he said.
Alex said the idea stems from the Government’s COVIDSafe App which is intended to speed up contacting people exposed to coronavirus.
“From what I understand, not everyone has downloaded the Government App, however, this ticketing add-on we have developed should assist the Government to reach more people,” Alex said.
The add-on works by adding contact tracing to ticket purchases for events and the INTIX ‘at-event’ app will allow event organisers to trace the steps of anyone who tests COVID19 positive. Alex said that privacy will be strictly upheld.
“Event-goers will need to agree to this use of their data and it will only be provided to the Government if required and in compliance with Federal privacy laws,” he said.
“We are excited to launch this initiative and look forward to seeing the event industry back up and running,” Alex said.
