Shae Lillywhite – Guest Speaker | Trailblazer in Women’s Sport | Local Legend

Shae Lillywhite is a pioneer in women’s baseball, a passionate community leader, and a proud member of the Frankston sporting community. With a playing career that spanned over two decades, Shae holds the distinction of being Australia’s longest-serving women’s baseball representative, playing from 2001 to 2023, including nine World Cup appearances and four World Series before the sport gained official international sanctioning.

Representing Victoria from 2000 to 2023, Shae was part of 12 National Championship-winning teams. Her impact is felt deeply at the grassroots level through her 23-year commitment to the Springvale Lions Baseball Club, where she played and coached in six consecutive Division One premierships—part of an extraordinary 21-year streak of Grand Final appearances and 15 championship titles.

Shae made history in 2013 as the first non-Japanese player in the Japanese Women’s Professional Baseball League. She won a silver medal at the 2010 Women’s Baseball World Cup, bronze in 2014, and in 2024 helped guide Team Japan to gold as a team trainer.

Off the field, Shae is a qualified clinical myotherapist and has worked with elite athletes, including at the Hawthorn Football Club in 2009. Her story is one of resilience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to advancing women’s sport.
