About Southside Flyers.
Southside Flyers are the 2024 WNBL Champions.
Formed in July 2019, the Flyers were runners-up in their first season before winning the WNBL Championship in just their second season. In five seasons the Flyers have won two Championship and been runners-up on two occasions, playing off in four Grand Finals in five seasons in the WNBL.
In the 2022/23 season the Flyers moved our home games to the State Basketball Centre, the heartland of basketball in Victoria, providing the best facilities for players and supporters. Everyone has a reserved seat for all Flyers home games at the venue.
Australia’s greatest basketballer, Lauren Jackson, joined the Flyers in 2022, having a huge impact on and off the court, with record crowd numbers at Flyers home games, including a WNBL record 7,681 at a one-off game played at John Cain Arena. Lauren was part of the Flyers Championship team in March 2024\
The 2024/25 season promises to be another exciting season for Southside Flyers and with an exciting playing roster, the team will be striving to go back-to-back.
